I've just done a clean install on version 5.62 on dnn 7.0

1. Ive noticed that the continue shopping button doesn't go back to the previous product listing page from where I selected an item. Instead, the continue shopping button goes back to an empty product listing page and categories all collapsed. **If I click on the browser's back button while on the product detail page, im back to the fully listed product listing page from where all I chose my item - and categories expanded where I left them.

2. We would like to hide the 'view cart' button on the product details page, is there an easy way to disable this from showing?

Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura,

Are you using more than one BuyNow Module and if so what steps have you taken to add the product to the cart? Also, are you adding from the product listing page or the product details page?

Would you like to remove view cart button on the product details or the product listing page?

Thanks!

Hello,
I'm just using one buy now module. We import the items using the import/export tool. We will from time to time add a single product by going to the buynow/product listing page then the store admin, then to add product.

We don't want the view cart button to show up on the product details page. I can remove the add to cart by selecting the appropriate checkboxes in the setup. Is there a setting that needs to be checked to hide the 'view cart' button on Product Detail page.

Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura,

I just tried to replicate this issue on our test site and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue of the Continue Shopping button navigating back to a black Product Listing page.

I would like to have you login to one of our public test portals and configure the cart the way you have your's configured and try to replicate the issue. This will determine if the issue you are reporting is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific DNN portal/cart install.

Please submit a ticket with a link to this post and I we will provide you with credentials to login. You can submit a ticket here - Click here

Thanks!

To hide the view cart button you need to open the ascx file for the page you want to hide the button on and set the visible property to false on the button.

Regarding the continue shopping error, check your dnn event viewer for any errors. If you imported your products the issue is most likely related to your product import.

Hello,
Just wanted to give more information regarding this issue. We were running version 5.26 with 5000+ products. I did a clean install and upgraded to version 5.6. I did another clean install and went to version 5.62 and did an import by following the clean install instructions. Are there tables that should have been carried over other than those listed on the clean install instructions?

I also looked in my dnn event viewer and found this error. I'm not sure if its related to this issue or if this is for something else thats going on.
Thank you,
Laura

Hi Laura,

Have you deleted the Page Templates in the Portals folder on your server? Usually when you see an error indicating "ProductsList.bind" this is associated with an old Page Template still being present on your server.

Hope this helps!

Hi Kevin,
For the heck of it, I did another clean install and installed the latest version that was provided for me. It was as if everything was brand new. The continue shopping button worked for like 5 minutes. As I was testing the button, it worked fine for about 5 clicks back to the product listing page - then it stopped working.

Could DNN be finding a template an old template that just doesn't want to let go. I follow the uninstall directions removing everything smith, clearing cache, deleting tables and sprocs, resetting iis, checking for the buynow folder - making sure everything is removed before I reinstall. All I really need to reimport are my product tables and categories.

I'm stumped.

Laura

Hi Laura,

Doing a clean install won't delete Page Templates you have already saved since they are located in the portals folder. Can you confirm if you have any Page Templates saved in your Portals\{portalID}\SmithCart\Templates folder?

Also are any errors being logged to your DNN Event Viewer?

Thanks!

I make sure the smithcart template files are deleted after I uninstall everything. I delete the templates if they show up. I dont have any in that folder right now.

Here is an error I found. Something that jumps out at me is within the url is that the word Product is cut in half.

Hi Laura,
In the errors you posted I can indeed see that the word "products" in the url logged has a space (%20) in it. Not sure exactly why your server is inserting a %20 in the url but it could be related to some bad data being imported from your source system or your IIS is inserting the space possibly because of url rewriting of some sort. Are you doing any url rewriting with IIS or possibly using a third party module to rewrite your urls?  Also check the product that is getting the space inserted in the url and check that row in the source data you are importing to make sure the data you are importing is good and that there are no special/hidden characters in your source import data.

Thanks!

I can say for sure I am not using a 3rd party url writer and pretty sure we do not have any url re writers going on in IIS but will check. I will look into rest of these and get back to you. Thanks!

Update:

I think I might be getting somewhere. I've gone through half our categories and deleted the Category URL Keywords for SEO. Some of them still have keywords in them with underscores and dashes. This issue still exists when clicking the continue shopping button to go back to the category listing with keyword urls.

Hi Laura,

Where is your site being hosted? This issue seems to be a hosting issue since a "%20" is being added in the middle of your URLs.

I have tried adding URL Keywords on my test site and I am able to use the Continue Shopping button from the Product Details page without any issue.

Can you please provide an example of URL Keywords that you had entered so I can try testing them on my test portal?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
