Is this possible,

A user1 selects Product A and Product A has Variants 1, 2, 3.

User1 selects Variant 1,and fills out a couple of selections.

After Checkout a Group is created for that user1, I think i can use the "add_role" stored procedure (i may be able to do this with a trigger after checkout)

The new "role" is then added into a dropdown list within variant 2.

Then user2 can select the newly added variant for checkout as well as be added to the group created by user1.

Basically we have "teams" created by our users. After a team is created by a user, then we need other usrs to sign up on that team.you can see how i set up the variants on my dev site, http://my.planetsocialsports.com/Signuptoplay.aspx

Need a little clarification, please explain what you mean by the following:

The new "role" is then added into a dropdown list within variant 2.

Are you referring to the product details screen, and wanting to dynamically create your own variant group and dropdown based on a previous users purchase?

If I understand correctly, the cart doesnt currently support this scenario.

I think the ability to dynamically create your own variant group and dropdown based on a previous users purchase could be a useful feature so I will add your request to our Enhancement Requests forum. If you have budget in your project to sponsor a portion of the development to prioritize a feature request to the top of the list please do one of the following:

We quote all features enhancements below cost since it is enhancing the module and in most cases we can start work on the new feature within a week.
