Disable Manufacturer

I can't seem to find a way to disable a manufacturer as opposed to deleting it (bad idea). It is important to keep a manufacturer in the system for reporting purposes and for past orders etc but we may not want a customer to see the manufacturer anymore in the search or by browsing. It is the same with products in which you already have a way to disable. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Hi Christian,

The ability to "disable" a Manufacturer instead of deleting it is not currently supported. I do think it would be a useful feature so I will move this post into our Enhancement Requests forum.
