Hi There

We run several razor cart setups and a common issue appears across various installation versions.

When adding a new / existing product to an either new or existing category, the categories selection menu is completely jumbled up. IE, some top level categories show up as secondary levels and vice versa, and there is no ordering to the categories list.

With the below screenshot, the categories circled in blue are all supposed to be second level categories for the top level of starters

In the next example, all those categories are supposed to be listed as top level categories.

This starts to become confusing when you have the same second level category names in multiple top level.

Is there a way to fix this issue as well as implement an alphabetical ordering system?

What version of RazorCart are you running? Categories are displayed in the category menu by "sort order" so if you want to change the display order go to the RazorCart admin category setup and change the order as desired. Automatically sorting alphabetically would be to limiting is why we use "sort order".

Hi David

With the example provided, I am running V1.4.4

In the below screenshot, I have sort order ID's placed on the different categories.

However, when trying to allocate a new / existing product to particular categories, it displays as follows, where again, the blue circled products should essentially be sitting without indentation as they are top level categories, and the red circled items should be sitting under 'Alternators' as second level:

From your screen shots, it looks like you have a lot of categories with the same name so it may be an issue or not, it's tuff to tell without doing some data analysis on your category data. Either way in the next version of RazorCart we are upgrading the product category setup page with a tree control so you can collapse and expand categories and it will be easier to manage and see hierarchies if you have a lot of categories and duplicate names.
