Without any assistance from your company on getting your product to work, we have discovered the following problems with your Billing Mgr 2.5 installation:

1.  Does not install the App_Webbillmgrsettings.ascx.61ca2ac0.dll

We have manually installed this dll and gotten past this issue.

2.  Your install package is missing the ManageSubSettings.ascx file and associated dll.

From the error log:

The file '/DesktopModules/SmithBillingManager/ManageSubSettings.ascx' does not exist.

Please advise ASAP when we will have a corrected installation package.

Hello,

I have not been able to replicate this issue. I have installed Billing Manager in DNN 5.6.3 and 6.1.1 test portals without any issue. Sounds like something is preventing the module from being fully installed or the installation package you received may have somehow been corrupted in the file download. Please email me at kevin@smith-consulting.com and we will send you a new installation package or transfer the file to you using FTP to prevent corruption.

Thanks,

The zip file you have sent us does not contain ManageSubSettings.ascx.

It’s not a matter of them not being installed, they are MISSING.  I’ve attached the zip file and the images below do not show this ascx nor an associated dll.  Please send the missing file(s).

From the error log:

The file '/DesktopModules/SmithBillingManager/ManageSubSettings.ascx' does not exist.

Hello,

I believe our staff is currently working on resolving this issue. The reason you are receiving messages indicating missing files, is previous to the release of v.2.50, the Smith Registration module was also included as part of the same installation package of Billing Manager. This is why we were not able to reproduce any errors because we were not testing the scenario of moving data from v2.0.

The release of v.2.50 was a major release and many changes and improvements have been made. As a result the installation package no longer includes the Registration module however, since you originally purchased both modules, I have received the authorization to provide you with the Smith Registration Pro module at no cost which was sent to you this afternoon.

The best plan of action would be a clean installation of both modules, then upon reinstallation confirm the modules are functioning correctly before importing the data. There may be data conflicts due to the gap in versions which is why it is important to first confirm the module functions before moving the data.

Thanks,

Unfortunately, we are still having the same exact issue when we completely uninstall all Smith modules and do a fresh install with Billing Mgr 2.5 and Registration Pro 4.34.  Below is the same error message:

Method: System.Web.UI.Util.CheckVirtualFileExists
StackTrace:
Message: System.Web.HttpException: The file '/DesktopModules/SmithBillingManager/ManageSubSettings.ascx' does not exist.

MANAGESUBSETTINGS.ASCX does not exist in either the Billing Mgr 2.5 nor the Reg Pro 4.34 Packages.  Please provide this file and any associated DLL’s.

Hello,

The ManageSubSettings.ascx file does not exist in the latest modules. You are most likely receiving the message above because the previous modules have not been completely uninstalled from your site.

Please do the following:

1. From the dnn->host menu uninstall all Smith modules. Make sure you check the delete files box when you uninstall.

2. Confirm that all stored procs and tables with a prefix of Smith in your database are deleted

3. Confirm that all Smith folders in /desktopmodules are deleted and the folder is removed

4. Install the latest modules

5. Configure the settings and test

Thanks,
