We are running dnn 05.01.02 and smith cart 3.8.0. Whenever I add url key words to a sub category, clicking on that sub category just makes it bring up all of the products. Is there a fix for this other than updating the cart. That's not really a viable option because I can't bill for my time since this is a bug, and not trying to be rude, but your upgrade process isn't exactly user friendly. It takes me anywhere from 2-6 hours to do, I lose all the customization to the design I have done, and I usually have to export and import all of the data again. I essentially have to re set up the entire thing. Any thoughts?

You can see the issue here https://www.yandasmpa.com/Storefront.... by expanding electric guitar and clicking on ibanez, I have url keywords in that category.

Hi Michael,

The current version of the cart is 4.31 and we don’t maintain source code for versions of the cart more than 3 versions back so we are not able to test Cart v.3.8.0 to replicate the issue you reported.  Issues cannot be easily patched in older versions.  Our support department cannot provide custom bug fixes for obsolete builds or customized deployments.  Would it be possible for you to upgrade?

Thanks, Kevin

I was afraid you will say that. I guess I know what I'm doing today.

So i upgraded from 3.8 to 4.31. I exported all the data, uninstalled 3.8, re-installed the new version and imported that data. I set up the settings. If I click on a product, it doesn't take me to the product detail page. Also, if I try to add the category menu to the product page, it give me this error. I made sure I set the buy now page name in the category module settings and product detail page. I also added the product detail page correctly in the cart settings.

Hi Michael,

v.4.32 was just released on 5/28, I would recommend downloading and installing it to see if that gets rid of the issue.

Thanks, Kevin

I just uninstalled and did a fresh install of the newest version. As soon as I add the category menu I get this error on the buy now page.

A critical error has occurred.
Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Entities.Content.ContentItem' from assembly 'DotNetNuke, Version=5.1.2.51, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

Hi Michael,

Have you set the BuyNow page name in the Category module settings?

Thanks, Kevin

I set all of the settings; the cart settings with the correct pages, the category menu with the correct pages, and the product details with the correct pages. I can give you admin access if you like.

Hi Michael,

Was the Category module ever working for you? Or is this only recent? Could you post the complete error for the event viewer?

Thanks, Kevin

Ok, rewind and let's start from the begenning. Originally, I had some issues with url keywords in the categories. Whenever you added one and then clicked on a sub category, it just showed all of the products. I posted on here and you told me to upgrade so I tried. Having dealt with upgrading this module too many times to count, I created a temp site. I uninstalled the buy now module complete. Then, did a fresh install of the newest version. That's where the categories stopped working. Since trying to add the category module on the page with the newest version, I get the error. It has never worked with the newest version. We are running DNN 5.01.02 with smith cart 4.32. The cart itself works fine. However, as soon as I add the category module to a page I get this error. This is after I have set all of the settings in teh category module, the buy now module, and the product details module. I have done two whole fresh uninstalls and re-installs to verify this. Here is the event viewer error.

Hi Michael,

From the error you posted in the dnn event viewer it looks like the category module is unable to retrieve the data from the database when the category module loads. I googled the error "Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Entities.Content.ContentItem' from assembly 'DotNetNuke, Version=5.1.2.51" for awhile and didnt come up too much that was useful other than assembies being out of sync between your bin folder and the gac http://stackoverflow.com/questions/124841/could-not-load-type-from-assembly-error.
Not sure if that is the problem or if something has gotten out of sync from upgrading your cart several times. I then tried to replicate it on another one of our test portals running the same version of the cart you are and was unable to replicate the issue. As a test can you install a new dnn 5.62 sandbox and install cart v4.32 to see if you still have the issue with the category module. If the category module works on a new dnn sandbox that will tell us that its not a bug in the cart but an issue with your portal. One other thought, dnn 5.1 has quite a few known bugs it could be related to that.

Thanks, Kevin
