Thanks for the clarification. So we can have the cart in test mode pointing to an Authorize.net test account. What about the cart not in test mode pointing to a real Authorize.net account that is in Test mode? Are those two states equivalent from a testing point of view? Obviously, I want to test without making any money change hands. Is one way better than the other?

Hi Tom,

For testing, I recommend using an Auth.net test account with the Cart enabled for "Test Mode".

When you have completed testing, enter your live credentials and disable "Test Mode" in the Cart.

Once your live account is being used you can enable "Test Mode"" at Auth.net if you would like to test your live Auth.net account. If Test Mode is enabled at Auth.net you should not have Test Mode enabled in the Cart.

Hope this helps!

Okay, well, absent any description of the difference between the two options, I've just put the cart in normal mode and left Auth.net in test mode.

Thanks,

Tom
