I've got a client that has a custom login module that screens potential online customers by zipcode radius. I'm wanting SC to only allow customers that are logged in to be able to shop. Anonymous users can view the products but aren't allowed to shop.

I'm confused about the multiple places where "Hide Add to Cart" is listed (BuyNow - Cart Settings & ProductDetail). The documentation says the same thing for both. Is there a difference where it is set? If I use the "Hide Add to Cart" option to keep Anonymous users from checking out how do I get the "Add to Cart" button back once they are logged in?

I'm also confused about the multiple places where "Add to Cart Requires Login" is listed (BuyNow - Cart Settings, ProductDetail, and Individual product setup). How do these differ? If I use this option, once I understand the difference between the three settings, can I redirect them to the custom login module instead of the SC login / register user page?

I apologize for the delay, it took me a minute to understand exactly what you are trying to achieve. Currently the Cart supports many different options for hiding/showing or enabling/disabling products, pricing, and features by role however the ability to Show/Hide the Add To Cart button by role is not supported. An efficient way to grant users access to specific product pages or features such as Adding Products to the Cart would be to add another instance of the BuyNow module and configure the BuyNow module which will be accessible to anonymous users to be view only (enable the "Hide Add To Cart' features). In the other BuyNow module available to registered users, configure the View Permissions to enable the DNN roles that correspond to the users that are eligible to add to the Cart. This will enable customers who belong the role/s assigned to add the product to the Cart and checkout.
