The select or options button is only displayed when you have product variants defined for a product that require you to go to the product detail page to select the variant before adding to the cart. On the featured products module we will change the value in the resx to options so its consistent with the options button in the buynow module. All the button text is localized in resx files so its easily changed by modifying the resx file for the page. Also we will try to replicate the error you reported clicking the select button on the featured products module and report back with your findings

Yes, both the "buy now" and "product detail" pages are configured. I even (just now) deleted and re-installed the FeaturedProducts module on the home page. Repros every time.

There are two featured products in my store: One without any variants, the other with 2 variants.

The product with no variants work correctly from the FeaturedProducts display. The button shows "Add to Cart" and clicking this puts the product in the shopping cart and brings me to a page showing the cart and asking for my shipping info. This is all as it should be (though, it SHOULD be asking me to login.. but that seems to be a separate problem).

For the product with variants, the button reads "Select" -- Clicking it causes a bad display on the current (home) page with the URL containing the error message I listed above. Clicking on the product picture brings me to the product details page, as it should. From the product details page, I can select either variant and click "Add to Cart" and the works as expected.

As additional information: From the product listing page, clicking "Add Options" for the product with variants that is also a featured product also results in things working as expected (I'm taken to the product details page and can then select which variant to order).

This does happen regardless of the browser I use.

There are two product variants, no conditionals, and they are quite ordinary (one adds 2 ounces and $5 to the price, the other has no shipping or weight impact). They are set "required."

Adding the same variants (copying the variants) to the other featured product causes the same behavior -- that is, a "select" button is shown and clicking it causes the browser mess previously described, with the same message.

Adding a new (different) set of variants to the other featured product ALSO causes the bad behavior.

This is quite troublesome. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you repro the problem. Sadly, the site is NOT available on the itnernet.

All of the the hotfixes are added to the most recent build of the full version. You can download the full version and when installing use the repair option.
