I've haven't been able to get Discounts by Role to work. I have a Security role setup on my website with certain members in it. I want those members to have a 10% discount on certain products in my store. When I edit the product(s) I want them to have a discount on, I select Discounts by Role. I select the role (group), and I set it to give them 10% and I leave the "price" blank (since I specified a %).

Well, immediately after doing that, the discount shows up for my Admin account (which my admin account is NOT a member of the group I gave the discount to). When a user in that group logs in, they see the 10% discount. HOWEVER, when ANYONE that is NOT in that group logs in, the price for them shows up as $0.00 (so basically, they can just order free products). When I go in and delete that Discount by Role, all the prices go back to normal for everyone.

What's up with that?

Also, I have "Product Percent/Amount Discounts by Role" checked under store Discount options, as well as "Enable Member Discount Percent by Role" under Member Pricing.

I have the latest version of Smith Cart, and the latest version of DNN. I've tried using Discount by Role on all previous versions of Smith Cart that I've had and it has always done this same thing.

In the mean time, in order to get by, I created a coupon code to give members in that specific role a 10% discount. The coupon takes the 10% off of their order, but now it's giving them free shipping as well. It gives them no other option for shipping except for "Free Shipping." Why is it doing this?

Shipping is working fine for everyone else not using the code. In the Shop Settings I have "NO FREE SHIPPING OPTION" checked (so it should NOT be offerring ANYONE free shipping).

Hi Randy,

For your Coupons, can you confirm that you have a Shipping Amount of "-1" entered for your Coupons?

Regarding Discounts, can you please provide a screenshot of your Cart Settings and your Discount Setup screens?

This is what happens when someone in the group "Tackle shops" logs in (Admin/Super User Account also see the discount, which they are not in the Tackle Shops group):

I've also been trying to setup shipping for my dealers, which is NOT working either. I've got it setup to where members of the Tackle Shops group can select Dealer Shipping for $0.00. However, it's letting EVERYONE that logs in select dealer shipping for $0.

Also, under Shipping & Handling Settings I enabled "Free Shipping for Orders over X $$'s:" and set it to $20, which of course that does not work either. I just tried it myself with an order over $50 and it gave no option or said anything about free shipping.

Hi Randy,

We were able to replicate the Member Price issue when enabling "Product Amount/Percent Discounts by Role" and being logged in as a user who is not added to the Role configured will be shown a 0 Price. This is logged to our Bug Tracker as BugID: 240 to be addressed as soon as possible. I will postback to this thread as soon as an update is available.

Regarding the Shipping issue, how do you have the Shipping section of your Cart Settings configured?

Which Shipping method do you have selected?

Hi Randy,

I just tried to replicate the issue of the free shipping over a specific order amount and I was unable to reproduce the same behavior. In my testing the Cart would always give free shipping if an order exceeded the set amount. Please see the images below:










I would like to have you login to one of our public test portals and configure the cart the way you have your's configured and try to replicate the issue. This will determine if the issue you are reporting is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific DNN portal/cart install.

For anyone following this thread BugID: 240 "Product Amount/Percent Discounts by Role" doesn't exist in the latest version of the Cart 5.75.

Thanks for reporting the issue!
