Hello,

My client primarily sells to other companies so I wanted to turn on the Show Company Name options so that Company Name would show up on the Ship to area.

What I'm seeing is that on the initial Cart page, the Company Name field is not shown, just the name and address, and shipping method. When I click the Checkout button, I get another page (step 1 I think) where the same ship to info I just entered is shown - along with the Company Name field and other fields such as email, phone, etc. Seems odd to have to go through this additional page so I tried setting the single page checkout option. In that case, the Company Name field is never shown.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Which version of the Cart and DNN are you currently running?

Which Shipping Method do you have selected in your Cart Settings?

The Step 1 page titled "Shipping" is used to populate the customer information of their DNN profile. In your Cart Settings under the General Cart Setup section is a feature titled "Shipping Label" which allows you to change the "Shipping" title in the checkout to anything that fits your requirement.

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry, I'm on SC 5.64 and DNN 7.0.06.

To be clear, I'm not trying to change the label of the Shipping Label, I'm trying to make a textbox appear where the buyer can enter their company name.

(I don't know what is going on with this editor, I can upload my screen shots but when I insert them here, they don't show up. I can see the img tags in the html view but the pictures don't show in design view. I've also attached the pictures via attachments.)

My shipping is set to Custom Method by Quantity.

If I set the cart to single page checkout and Show Company Name like this:

When I view my cart, it looks like this - no Company Name shown.
There is also the Bill To panel with a checkbox for "Use Shipping". It doesn't have a Company name either. In addition, the Payment Method dropdown is empty. Notice also if I click the Checkout button, I get the error message shown: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

If I instead uncheck the single page checkout, I get the Company Name field on the Step one page of checkout. :

Hello Tom,

Currently the Single Page Checkout feature does not support the Show Company Field feature. I recommend not using single page checkout if you would like to use the Show Company Field Feature.

In addition, I would like to let you know that our programming department is available to enhance the Single Page Checkout option to support Show Company Field Feature. If you are interested please submit a quote at the following link:

http://www.smith-consulting.com/servi...

As far as the Payment Methods not being displayed, may I ask if you could please provide screen shots of all you settings under the Manage Payment Methods screen? This will help to further determine the cause of the issue.

Lastly, If you are experiencing issues with this editor I would like to recommend submitting a ticket to our Help Desk at the following link:

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Thank you!

Not showing the Company Name box on the single page checkout really seems like a bug. Do I really need to pay you to fix a bug?

Update: I even tried a work-around. I disabled the Show Company Name option but made a Custom Field for Company Name. That custom field doesn't show up on the single page checkout page either.

I've attached screen shots of the payment setups (In Single Page checkout mode, I have no payment methods in my payment method dropdown - this works fine in multi-page checkout mode).

Hi Tom,

This isn't a bug but rather a limitation of the "Single Page Checkout" setting that hasn't been programmed yet.

The "Show Company Name" feature is designed to be displayed on the Step 1 page of checkout but if the "Single Page Checkout" option is enabled, you are never taken to the Step 1 Page.

I have added this issue to our Dev Roadmap to be addressed in a future release.

In regards to the Payment Methods not being displayed, I have not been able to replicate this issue on my test portal running version 5.68 of the Cart (see screenshot below). It's possible that this has already been resolved in a recent release. I recommend upgrading to the latest version to check if the issue still exists.

Please remember: When upgrading your store it is always recommend that you first test the upgrade in a test environment before your live site and be sure to make a full backup before the upgrade just in case you need to rollback.

Thanks for your feedback!

So the Single Page checkout isn't designed to show custom fields either?

Thanks for adding it to the Roadmap at least (don't forget custom fields).

Tom

Hi Tom,

Adding custom fields to the Cart page when using the "Single Page Checkout" option is not currently supported. I will add this to our developers queue of things to look into.

Thanks!

I think this is a bug. It kind of works as shown in the pictures below.
The Company Name field seems to have some sort of memory. Here's a picture of the cart before I've calculated shipping.

After I click Calculate Shipping, the Company Name appears and is populated with my company name.

But, on the Step 1 page, Company Name is again blank.

Hi Tom,

In your Store Settings, under the Cart and Checkout settings, do you have a profile field selected for the "DNN Profile Field Map" setting? When a DNN profile field is set the Cart maps to the company name field collected during checkout and saved to the field selected.

Thanks!

I don't have anything selected there. Under DNN Profile section, I have the option: Use Session, Cookies and DNN Profile To Auto Populate Checkout Screens selected. I suspect that's part of it but the fact remains that it is sometimes shown on the Cart page and sometimes not. Whether the actual value is cached somewhere shouldn't change the display of the box when the field is enabled.

By "screen shot" of the settings, I assume you mean many, many shots of all the various panels under the settings page? This process of providing screen shots of all the settings to try and figure out what's different between two stores is extremely tedious. It seems like it would be much easier and more efficient if you guys would give us a couple of SQL queries to run against the DB so we would have a tabular output of the settings instead of having to capture and post screen shots.

Seems like that would make troubleshooting and analysis much, much easier wouldn't it?

Tom
