We are using Zone Shipping by Weight.

The customer adds items to the cart, then selects their shipping options and the shipping is calculated. But then if they click Update Quantity on the cart, the shipping is reset to $0. But the shipping details they entered are still shown, and clicking Checkout takes them forward to the next steps in the checkout process with shipping as $0.

Have we missed a setting somewhere that will make Update Quantity to a shipping calculation instead of setting it to $0?

Hi Bevan,

Which version of the Cart and DNN are you currently running?

Please provide a screenshot of the following screens of your Cart we so can test this issue:
  1. Cart Settings
  2. Shipping Zone Management screen
  3. Shipping By Weight management screen
  4. Cart page with the address you entered

Thanks!

DNN Version 7.0
Cart Version: 5.57

Cart Settings:

Shipping Zone Management:

Shipping By Weight Management - this just shows the first few records. There are similar rates for all zones.

Cart Page - we've hidden most of the calculate shipping fields as only the State/Region is used to calculate the shipping.
BEFORE SELECTING SHIPPING:

AFTER SELECTING SHIPPING:

AFTER CLICKING UPDATE QUANTITY - region stays the same, shipping disappears. (The wording on shipping is shown when shipping is $0). If the customer then clicks "CHECKOUT" they are taken to Step 1 of the checkout and shipping is never recalculated:

IF WE THEN REFRESH THE PAGE - Shipping is calculated again but region looks different.

Also noticed that the region selected on the Cart page doesn't get saved to then appear on the Step 1 of the checkout where the customer is entering their shipping details. So they can calculate shipping on the cart page, but then choose a different shipping address in Step 1 of the checkout. But of course that keeps the shipping cost that was calculated on the cart page.

Hi Bevan,

How did you customize the "(Calculate Shipping Below)" text?

Did the Shipping Rate function correctly before your customizations?

I configured my Cart Settings to match the screenshots you provided and I was unable to reproduce an issue of the Shipping resetting to $0. The shipping remained applied when clicking the "Update Quantity" button and also readjusted if I increased the Quantity then clicked "Update Quantity".

Please see the following screenshots:

After Selecting Shipping -

After clicking Update Quantity -

After increasing the Quantity then clicking Update Quantity. The Shipping rate is correctly recalculated -

Thanks!

Also the Country and Region are both being carried over from the Cart page to the Step 1 page correctly for me.

Please see the following screenshots:

Cart page Ship To fields entered -

Step 1 page after clicking Checkout on the Cart page -

Seems this issue was fixed in version 5.65.

But we've had to do so many customisations to work around weird issues that I don't think we can upgrade without breaking half the website.

Hi Bevan,

The best way to reapply your customizations would be to use a file comparison program such as WinDiff or Windows Grep to compare and easily apply the differences between the old and new files so you can apply the same modifications to the new files. You may also find the following forum post helpful for retaining your ascx mods: https://www.smith-consulting.com/Foru...

Hope this helps!
