I did not see in the example picture of the module settings if like all other DNN modules, can I set which user role can actually see this module? In other words, if I have this module set up to be clicked to advance you to another role, can I only have certain members be able to see the module and click the link so that not everyone can?

Yes you can set which user role can see the module by using regular dnn role permissions either on the role manager module or the page
