I am comparing some shipping costs from our old store to the new one I am working on. I ran into a different between the stores, and thought that changing the max package weight would fix the issue.

Changing the max package weight from 100lbs to 40lbs changed my shipping cost for 3 36lb packages (~100lbs) from $80 to new york, to almost $1100! I am thinking this is not right? Even changing from 1 to 3 packages shouldn't cause this much variance.

...or am I missing something? I have confirmed both ship to destinations are the same, same product, same weight (yes I used ounces when importing products, but lbs when setting the max package weight)

Let me know if you need more information. Using cart 4.24

UPDATE**

Changing my max package weight from 40lbs back to 100lbs didn't fix the issue either, now I'm seeing anywhere from $2000 to $10000 shipping charges

We've never had any reports of that before, where are you trying to ship a pack to New York from? Also, which shipping calculator are you using?

What is the Zip Code/Country/State in the BuyNow module settings set to?

Thanks,

Christian

Has anyone else had an issue doing this? Honestly if I can just get the shipping back to the way it was that would be fine, I just wanted to play around with the max package weight. I can try to recreate on your test site if you wish, but I can no longer conduct shipping tests since the costs are astronomical and will not go away.

See attached image. I have max package weight set at 100lbs (even though I don't need a max package weight, but I read in another post that this was required to fix the UPS shipping memory leak.

Someone I think the shipping is off a little bit. For small orders, the shipping module works fine, but for larger orders, like the one I posted, shipping get's thrown way off.

Can you tell me what you entered as the weight of your product so i can try to replicate it on our test portal.

Thanks,
Kevin

Weight of the product is 176oz. The weight I had entered in the 'Max Package Weight' field was 40lbs, then I changed to 100lbs, then 150lbs, just to see if that made a difference.

Cart v4.26 available on the downloads page now includes a hotfix that should fix the max package weight issue you reported. If you enter a "0" in the max package weight field it will disable the max package weight logic.

Is there a hotfix available or do I have to completely reinstall? If it's not too much trouble, and it's easy to explain what to change, I have no problem doing a little work on my end to avoid a complete reinstall.
