I'm running DNN 7.3.2 and SC 6.7.2 with the newest DNNGo responsive skin (045). The product page, the detail page and the featured module are not very responsive. Items don't scale and vertically align when viewing for mobile or tablet. Only the spacing between products change. Images do not scale up and down. There's horizontal scrolling and image cutoff. Is there a trick? Is there a fix?

Hi Eric,

We are in the process of improving the responsiveness of the Product Listing, Featured Products and Product Details page elements to vertically stack when viewed on a mobile phone or tablet. Look for this in the next release of the Cart.

We can also provide you with a beta version if you are interested and would like to provide additional feedback of the changes we have made so far.

Thanks!

Yes, that's fine, but my issue is no responsiveness at all. Did you look at the provided screenshots. Even if it's bad, it still needs to be responsive. I have your product on a client site and it's responsive even though it does a poor job. My current issue on my site is NO responsiveness at all. What can you do to fix this issue?

Hi Eric,

Yes, I saw the screenshots. The issue is that when using a multicolumn layout in the Feature Product and Product Listing page, the columns can only be sized down to a certain point. This is the reason some content will scroll off the page on some mobile devices. I would say that about 80% of the responsiveness of pages is handled by the skin so if one site is more responsive than the other and they are using different skins, the skins are likely rendering the page elements differently. The changes we are making will resolve this problem. Would you like a copy of the latest best version?

Thanks!

Hi Eric,

Our programmers have implemented the responsive changes into 6.72 which is now available on the Downloads page.

Hope you have a nice Labor Day weekend!

I downloaded the new version and have spent the last 6 hours trying to install it. I've used 3 browsers over and over again. No error ... nothing. Just sits there spinning, never getting past the "upload new extension package" screen and the "next" button.

Is there an alternate way to install?

Hi Eric,

Try increasing your web config timeout value to a higher number so the install doesn't timeout or there are other items you can do to tune your dnn portal to get faster response time. Here is a good post on tuning http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/a...

Also here are a couple other items for you to look into:

• You should have at least 2gb allocated to your web server
• Performance and tuning on your sql server
• Clear windows, iis and sql server logs including your DB for the portal. Large log files can cause poor performance

After tuning your site try the install on your test site until you get it working before installing on your live site.

Hope this helps!

Turns out I think clearing the event log may have helped. I at least got to the license screen. I'll let you know.

I just installed the module so I know it installs fine. The install zip file may have got corrupted during the download, sometimes that happens during file transfers. Try downloading the module again and installing.

Also, your dnn site may be unusually slow due to the recent security vulnerability discovered in DNN that is allowing bots to fully automate the registration process on a site, creating many spam users in the site and crippling sites with dos attacks. Have you made the recommended security fixes to your dnn site to stop the bots?

What security bot fix? REcaptcha? I did see some weird activity in the event log before clearing it, from .ru sites

It finally installed an no difference at all. Your product still does not respond to its environment.

Did you refresh your page templates? Most of the changes were made to the templates so if you have old templates saved you won't see any of the responsiveness.

When I go to manage page templates, there are no templates there. What is it I'm refreshing?

Take the following steps:

1. In file explorer, navigate to your \portals\[portalid]\smithcart\templates folder
2. Delete all the files in the \portals\[portalid]\smithcart\templates folder
3. Reset iis and restart the application from the dnn host menu
4. Check the pages
