I have a need to set a maximum amount a coupon can be used by any user.
I'm running a promotion that I would like to have one code for but limit the number of times it can be used to say 300. I thought this is what the coupon quantity value was for. However, I tested it and it didn't work the way I thought the feature would have worked. After reading the manual I realize it says the following:
Coupon Quantity
– The coupon quantity allows you to place a limit on the total number of coupons allowed per order per customer.
What I want is the ability to set a maximum coupon quantity that a promotion code can be used ever. Once the coupon has been used that many times then the shopping cart will not allow that coupon to be used anymore.
Once again I thought this was already part of the cart but didn't realize that it was a limit per order per customer. I now don't know how I'm going to run this promotion coming up in a couple weeks. Is there any way this can be done easily and in the next release?
