Hi,

I had not updated our cart for a while, and I believe we had version 6.0 in place. Upon upgrading to 6.78, I see the demo text, then I go click the option to enter the new license (which I have already), and the cart crashes. I just cannot enter the admin area at all.

I had created a full site backup so I had to restore the original site.

Here is the error. I am not sure how to get around this... Should I upgrade an earlier version instead of going from 6.0 to 6.78?

Hi Steve,

Try hovering over the DNN action menu in Edit module and selecting the "MAnage Licenses" option from there.

If you are upgrading from 6.0 to 6.78 you will need to request a new license. The following message is also displayed on the Downloads page:

If you are upgrading from any version under 6.72 to SmithCart 6.72+, please be aware that you will be required to request a new license key, as your old keys will no longer be active. Please allow time for this and always install on a test or dev portal before going live.  We will need to verify your Order ID to determine if you are in the 3 month upgrade window, or running the maintenance plan. If you need to purchase an upgrade, please email sales@smith-consulting.com

Hi Kevin,

I do have the new license in hand already. I thought I already tried the Managed License link that way. But if I go through a full upgrade again, would this get around the DivideByZeroException (by clicking it from the action menu)? Due to resource limitations I have to make copies then restore rather than running a full test site. I could not get to any of the admin screens even though the 3 or 4 links existed in the demo area.

It just takes a bit of round-trip work to do the above, so I want to make sure there is nothing else I need to check... like a database entry that needs changing that causes the divide by zero error.

Hi Kevin,

OK, that did work! Adding the license the way you mention did get around the error.

Thanks!

Steve
